Mr. Sofoul is the co-founder of Benefits Science, serving as the CEO & President of the company. The education that led to this role includes a B.S. in Finance and an M.B.A. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He previously served as the President of a specialized healthcare consulting firm based in The Woodlands, TX.
In addition to his experience as a start-up specialist, Mr. Sofoul has led organizations in both the manufacturing and services sectors. This experience includes time as the Vice-President of a heavy equipment manufacturing firm based in Houston, TX and the managing director of a financial consulting firm based in The Woodlands, TX. Mr. Sofoul currently resides in Boston, MA and holds a life & health insurance license, life & health insurance counselor license, and a GBA (Group Benefits Associate) designation.
Sid Mann

Mr. Mann is the co-founder of Benefits Science and serves as the Vice-President of the company. With a B.S. in Finance from Brigham Young University, he previously served as the Vice-President of PeopleManage Pro, a leading healthcare consulting firm based in The Woodlands, TX. Mr. Mann has extensive experience building and managing sales organizations in multiple industries.
His previous experience includes serving as the President of a heavy equipment manufacturing firm based in Houston, TX and the managing partner of a financial consulting firm based in The Woodlands, TX. Mr. Mann began his career as a sales manager with AT&T in Sandy, UT; now Mr. Mann resides in Conroe, TX and holds a life & health insurance license.
Dimitris Bertsimas, Ph.D.

In early 2000, Dr. Bertsimas co-founded D2Hawkeye, a market-leading healthcare analytics tool (sold to Verisk in 2009). In 2012, he helped launch BST from the campus of MIT. Dr. Bertsimas is recognized as an early pioneer in healthcare analytics since 2001 and has led advancing technologies in data science, robust optimization, and AI to optimize some of the world’s most complex systems.
Dr. Bertsimas is currently the Boeing Professor of Operations Research, the co-director of the Operations Research Center, and the faculty director of the Master of Business Analytics at MIT. He received his M.S. (1987) and Ph.D. (1988) in Applied Mathematics and Operations Research from MIT and has been with the MIT faculty since. His research interests include optimization, machine learning and applied probability, with applications in healthcare, finance, operations management, and transportation. He has co-authored over 220 scientific papers and four graduate-level textbooks, leading to an editor-in-chief position at INFORMS Journal of Optimization. He has supervised 62 doctoral students and he is currently supervising 25 others.
A member of the National Academy of Engineering since 2005, he has received numerous research awards including the Morse Prize (2013), the Pierskalla Award for Best Paper in Healthcare (2013), the Best Paper Award in Transportation (2013) the Farkas Prize (2008), the Erlang Prize (1996), the SIAM Prize in Optimization (1996), the Bodossaki Prize (1998) and the Presidential Young Investigator Award (1991-1996).
Neil Larson
Director of Data Services
With a B.A. in Economics from Brigham Young University, Mr. Larson serves as the Chief Strategy Officer for BST. He previously served as a credentialed actuary for Aon Hewitt and Gallagher (two of the four largest insurance consulting firms in the world), where he worked on numerous Fortune 500 and Global 500 partner accounts. Mr. Larson led in-house domestic benefits for a Global 500 production firm, with strong financial results.
His specialties include: actuarial projections, cost reduction strategies, accounting and budgeting forecasts, claims analysis, data warehousing, health insurance reform, liability reserving, provider discount analysis, and employee contributions. Mr. Larson holds a life & health insurance license and currently resides in Boston, MA with his family.
Clyde Parker, J.D.
Board Member
Clyde Parker is a member of the Board of Directors of BST. Clyde is an attorney with Winstead who has experience and expertise in mergers and acquisitions, public offerings of debt and equity securities, capital formation transactions involving venture capital financings, seller financings, private placements, and corporate counseling to public and private companies on various corporate and security matters. Clyde’s experience also spans security law compliance and filings, including Sarbanes-Oxley, corporate governance and antitakeover issues. His clients have included energy services companies, manufacturing companies and technology companies as well as venture funds and individual investors. Earlier in his professional career, he practiced as a certified public accountant for nine years.
Yankang Jiang
Chief Technology Officer
Yankang Jiang serves as the Chief Technology Officer, leading platform architecture and development while managing the engineering division. Prior to joining BST, he served as Chief Technology Officer of Cignifi, where he led the launch of the credit risk platform using alternative data. He joined Cignifi from Dazzling Intelligence, where he was a founder. Also having been a founding member and Vice-President of Technology at Adelphic, he led the team to build a real-time bidding advertising platform. Adelphic was then backed up by Google Venture and acquired by Times, Inc. Yankang has an M.S. in electrical engineering from Shanghai University and a B.S. in electrical engineering from Zhejiang University.
Marc D. Kutter
Chief Growth Officer
Mr. Kutter is responsible for strategic distribution relationships and national sales efforts. He has led various companies in employee benefits, financial services, and healthcare industries as an executive in strategy, business development, and operational roles. Additionally, Mr. Kutter proudly served as an Infantry Officer in the United States Army, serving in the 10th Mountain Division and the 82nd Airborne Division in the Middle East, Central America, and the Balkans. Marc earned his B.S. degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. Marc also serves on several boards for early-stage companies, mentoring entrepreneurs and giving back to the community via non-profit organizations.
Yiannis A. Monovoukas, Ph.D.

Yiannis Monovoukas, Ph.D., MBA, is a member of the Board of Directors of Benefits Science Technologies. He is the former Chairman, President, and CEO; he is also a major shareholder of two regenerative medicine companies focusing on the repair, reinforcement, and regeneration of soft tissues: TEI Biosciences Inc. and TEI Medical Inc. Both companies were sold to Integra LifeSciences in 2015. Dr. Monovoukas is also the Founder, President, and CEO of Helios Cardiovascular and Helios Biomedical, as well as the co-Founder, President, and CEO of AuraGen Aesthetics and Quantum Medical Analytics.
Prior to joining TEI, he was President and CEO of Thermo Fibergen, now Thermo Fisher Scientific, which he grew from an R&D to a profitable public company. Dr. Monovoukas holds various chemical engineering degrees: a B.S. from Columbia University, an M.S. and Ph.D. from Stanford University, as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School. Dr. Monovoukas was the 2011 winner of the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year® Award in New England for Life Sciences and was a 2011 Life Sciences U.S. National Finalist. He also served on a panel of judges for the 2012, 2013 and 2014 E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year® New England Awards Program, and on the 2015 and 2016 U.S. national judging panel for life sciences. TEI was also the winner of the SBANE 2011 New England Innovation Award.
Since 2010, Dr. Monovoukas has been serving on the Board of Directors of Owlstone. From 2011 to 2014, he served as a Mentor for the Columbia Engineering Entrepreneurship Program, and as of 2015, he is serving as a member of the Board of Overseers of the Boston Museum of Science. Dr. Monovoukas was also recently elected to serve on the Board of Directors of InterAx Biotech AG.
Omid Nohadani, Ph.D.
Director of Data Science and AI
Dr. Nohadani leads the Data Science team in the development of optimization and machine learning solutions. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Southern California. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Operations Research Center at MIT and a research fellow at Harvard Medical School. Before BST, he served as a Professor of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University and Northwestern University.
He specializes in algorithms and solutions for big-data environments affected by uncertainty and subjected to complex risk measures. He has co-authored more than 45 scientific papers and received several research awards, including Best Paper Award for IISE Transactions on Healthcare Systems Engineering (2018) and Best Regional Paper Award of the American Association for Physicists in Medicine (2013). Currently, he is also an associate editor of IISE Transactions and serves on the editorial board of INFORMS Service Sciences.
Jocelyn Jiang, ASA, MAAA
Director of Employer Services
Responsibilities
Ms. Jiang leads the Employer Services division offering data warehousing and consultative prescriptive analytics solutions to the employer and broker clients. With years of actuarial consulting experience in the healthcare industry, Jocelyn helps her clients identify savings opportunities and objectively evaluate the effectiveness of their existing solutions. As a leader, she continues to streamline internal processes to improve quality outcomes and efficiency of implementation and ongoing customer support. She is currently spearheading the development of BST’s new Front Office platform which focuses on algorithmic-driven actionable recommendations. She supports and collaborates with her team members to ensure the team achieve the best business results. She also facilitates company’s new business sales by conveying company’s value proposition through user stories and support models.
Experience
Ms. Jiang is a credentialed actuary with over 10 years of health and welfare consulting experience. Prior to joining Benefits Science, she worked as a consulting actuary at EPIC and AON and served organizations of all sizes and across industries. Her past work included health and welfare strategy formulating and executing, financial projection, vendor procurement, and merger & acquisition evaluations. Ms. Jiang received her B.S. in Mathematics with Actuarial Science focus from The University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Jiang resides in The Woodlands, TX and holds a life & health insurance license.

Jocelyn earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with High Honors from The University of Texas at Austin.
She is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Tracy Funk
Supplemental Benefits and Benefit Administration Practice Lead
Tracy Funk is the Supplemental Benefits Practice Lead at Benefits Science Technologies. Tracy previously worked at Alight Solutions where she provided supplemental benefits expertise across the organization. She is an expert in employee benefits and has led strategic initiatives across several organizations, including designing and managing national carrier partnership programs and creating private exchange platforms. She is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a business administration degree.
In her current role, Tracy is focused on expanding our supplemental benefit and benefit administration partnerships and ensuring we bring the most innovative products to the market. Tracy resides in Roswell, GA and holds a life & health insurance license.
Sirine Jazi, MPH
Clinical Analytics Practice Lead
Sirine Jazi serves as BST’s Clinical Analytics Director. Sirine’s career has been focused on examining complex clinical and health program data and designing sophisticated analytics solutions. Her areas of expertise include: disease and chronic condition management analysis, social determinants of health studies, point solution evaluations, and population health clinical risk stratification. Her role at BST is focused on client-driven population health consultation and initiatives for our plan sponsor clients, including several Fortune 500 organizations. Sirine also leads a world-class team at BST responsible for designing algorithms that bring her clinical analytics solutions to life within BST’s suite of products.
Sirine holds a Masters in Public Health (MPH) degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) from McGill University in Canada, and is certified in Public Health (CPH).
