Benefits Science Technologies is a data science and technology firm founded out of MIT and innovating at the intersection of analytics, healthcare, and software development. We are building THE data science-driven engine to help clients manage risk related to healthcare and insurance - empowering them to make optimal decisions to control costs and improve quality of care for their members. We are looking for a passionate Senior DevOps Engineer to join us in building the next generation data analytics platform and maintaining the existing products and services used by thousands of companies. This is a full time, salaried position with salary commensurate with education, experience, and contribution.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure for new and existing products and services
Architect solutions focused on security, scalability, and maintainability
Set up various open source monitoring tools to monitor both the systems and the applications
Responsible for code release and production support
Manage the development and production environment
Provide IT support throughout BST
Implement, monitor, and maintain fail proof infrastructure systems, controls and policies to protect corporate assets, systems, data (corporate, print and digital) and intellectual property
Ensure disaster recovery plans and solutions are in place and kept up-to-date
Collaborate with colleagues from engineering and business backgrounds; generally working as part of a team rather than in a supervisory role
Must pass initial and periodic background checks, and comply with all applicable HIPAA and Security regulations, including maintaining HIPAA Awareness and Security Certification
Must be available and able to work during standard business hours in the Benefits Science office in Needham, MA, as well as at other times as needed for communication and coordination with our international team
Qualifications:
Minimum BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 5+ years experience in DevOps activities in large scale infrastructure settings
Experience with AWS, EC2, S3, VPC, Route 53, IAM, RDB, Redshift, etc.
Experience with Docker, Kubernete, Terraform, and CloudFormation
Experience with Active Directory and SSN
Experience with both Linux and Windows
Must possess a good understanding of networking protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNA, VPN, firewall etc.
Proficiency with shell scripting, SQL, etc.
Experience with CI/CD Jenkins
Experience with big data stack including Hadoop, Spark, EMR, Presto, Tableau, Pentaho, etc.
Healthcare Insurance Domain experience strongly preferred
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Fluent in English (both verbal and written)
