We are building THE data science-driven engine to help clients manage risk related to health care and insurance - empowering them to make optimal decisions to control costs and improve quality of care for their members. Under the Direction of the Data Engineering Manager or designee for the assigned Team, the Data Management Analyst is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the performance of our online databases. This includes working to obtain high quality data feeds from our vendors in a timely, reliable fashion. The Data Management Analyst is a key link between our sales, account management, and technology teams. This is a full time, salaried position, with salary commensurate with education, experience, and contribution.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop a proactive methodology for effective data management by collecting, analyzing and reporting on disparate data sources.
Analyze business objectives and develop data solutions to meet customer needs.
Improve and customize current data solutions to meet business functional and non-functional requirements.
Develop and document the standard data reporting processes.
Coordinate with other teams in report enhancements and modifications activities.
Interact with Management, IT, Compliance and Performance personnel to gather data management requirements and construct the necessary quality control procedures.
Research new and existing data sources in order to contribute to new development, improve data management processes, and make recommendations for data quality initiatives.
Perform complex analysis and investigation to explain results and to make appropriate recommendations.
Assist manager in establishing data security guidelines.
Maintain best practices to ensure data are appropriately secured from security breaches.
Determine root cause for data integrity gaps resulting from previously uncontrolled migrations in order to provide appropriate data resolution and remedy process.
Perform periodic data quality reviews for internal and external data.
Ensure timely resolution of queries and data issues.
Must pass initial and periodic background checks, and comply with all applicable HIPAA and Security regulations, including maintaining HIPAA Awareness Certification.
Must be available and able to work during standard business hours in the Benefits Science office in the Boston, MA area, as well as at other times as needed.
BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Math, or related field.
Minimum of 2 years experience in Jira or Salesforce and Healthcare database management including .txt, .yaml, or .json files is required.
Minimum 2 years experience designing, analyzing, synthesizing, and developing large data files using MS Excel, SQL, or equivalent analytical tools
Must be proficient in mathematics and able to follow projects all the way through to completion paying particular attention to quality and timeliness
Hands on experience with design and implementation of storage and data protection hardware and software platforms such as Amazon AWS
Experience providing solutions for data and application workload migrations
Experience supporting virtualization environments such as tableau
Demonstrate a keen interest in keeping abreast of technological advances and proven success at incorporating new technology into existing systems
Preferred: Experience engineering integrated solutions with storage and data protection
Preferred: Experience with capacity planning and sizing large global environments, performance tuning and optimization of data delivery, and storage engineering integrated solutions with storage and data protection
Preferred: Familiarity with Lean Methodology and Agile methodologies including Scrum or Kanban
Preferred: excellent listening, negotiating, mediating and conflict deescalating skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Fluent in English (both verbal and written)
