Benefits Science Technologies Names Dr. Yiannis Monovoukas to Board of Directors.
The bio-medical entrepreneur and innovator brings more than two decades of related experience to the company.
BOSTON, Mass., March 20, 2017 – Benefits Science Technologies (BST) CEO Stephen Sofoul announced the addition of Yiannis Monovoukas, Ph.D., MBA to BST’s Board of Directors. Dr. Monovoukas is the former Chairman, President, and CEO, and major shareholder of TEI Biosciences Inc. and TEI Medical Inc., two regenerative medicine companies based on technology generated at MIT focusing on the repair, reinforcement, and regeneration of soft tissues.
“An award-winning entrepreneur and innovator, Dr. Monovoukas brings a wealth of experience in the bio-medical arena to our organization,” said Sofoul. “We expect many great contributions from him.”
Dr. Monovoukas has been the recipient of a number of science and business awards, including the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® award for 2011 New England in the Life Sciences. He also serves on the board of directors of science-based companies in the United States, England, and Europe. He holds a BS degree from Columbia University and MS and Ph.D. degrees from Stanford University, all in chemical engineering, as well as an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
